In a remarkable display of academic excellence, Md. Tofazzal Hossain Rifat – who is the son of a rickshaw van puller and standout student from Pandughar Samsuddin Ahammad Bhuiyan High School has achieved a perfect GPA of 5. This exceptional scholar has not only earned recognition within their school but has also secured a coveted spot at the prestigious Notre Dame College, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.

After a visit to Md. Abu Taher’s home, the PHKF team confirmed the authenticity of his situation and the family’s struggles. In their 14th Working Committee meeting on September 17, 2023, all PHKF members unanimously decided to provide humanitarian aid, offering 100,000 taka in cash to Mr. Abu Taher. This support brought a smile to his face and provided relief from his challenging circumstances.
On September 3, 2023, Somoy Television aired a report titled “Children do not see the life struggle of old parents,” highlighting the story of Md. Abu Taher, a resident of Dhunchi village in Sirajganj district. Despite his age and health issues, he was making a meager living by selling bamboo sticks. His sons didn’t support him, and he was struggling to make ends meet. The report caught the attention of Mr. Golam Habib, a member of the Working Committee of Pandughar Hasina Khanam Foundation.

Pandughar Hasina Khanoam Foundation’s philanthropic efforts continue to have a significant impact, providing a monthly sustenance of 10kg of rice and financial aid to 1963 individuals in Pandughar Village, Murad Nagar, Cumilla, and 125 underprivileged individuals in Gaibandha, Rangpur Division. This demonstrates Pandughar Group’s strong commitment to alleviate hardships in vulnerable communities.
As per Pandughar Group’s Operational Policy, medical assistance has been provided to 18 case specific employees and their family members, addressing a range of health challenges, including: Double Vessel Coronary Artery Disease, Carcinoma/Cancer in the Tongue, Neurosurgery for Decompression of L4-L5, L5-S1, Eye Operation CAT B/E (Cataract), Adenotonsillectomy operation, Heart & Kidney Diseases, Posterior circulation infarct (left-sided pons and cerebellum), Hypokalemia, Premature Birth & Pneumonia, Preterm (32+ weeks) with LBW (1.8kg) with Birth Asphyxia, Pediatric Endocrinology & Metabolism (Hormone Deficiency), Gastric ulcer, doctor’s consultation & treatment, Dengue Fever, Leg injury, Accidental Fracture of the Left knee, Accidental Disability.
